Happy Dragon Boat Festival!

The dragon boat festival is a traditional Chinese festival, celebrated on the 5th day of the 5th month of the Chinese lunar calendar.

The festival commemorates the death of the Chinese poet and minister Qu Yuan, who drowned himself in the Miluo river.
He was charished for his beautiful poems and his righteousness, the people races their dragon boats to save him or scare away the fishes and threw sticky rice dumplings in the sea for the fishes to eat instead of his body.

The people celebrate this festival by eating “Zongzi” (sticky rice dumplings, packed in bamboo leaves with sweet or salty fillings), drinking realgar wine and racing dragon boats.

Last year our company participated in the dragon boat race in Vienna.

This year our employees have received some sticky rice dumplings as a gift to share with their families.
